CHICAGO - Two goals apiece for senior midfielder Agustin Herrera (Chicago Heights, Ill./Bloom) and freshman midfielder Cody Culver (Roscoe, Ill./Harlem) helped give Saint Xavier University a 6-0 victory over visiting Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) men's soccer action Saturday night at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago. In addition, senior goalkeeper James Kline (Canton, Ohio/Perry) recorded his second shutout of the season finishing the night with four saves for the Cougars. With the win, SXU improves to 4-5 overall on the year and 2-0 in the conference standings.

Herrera scored both of his goals in the first half notching the first score of the game in the 11th minute off an assist from junior forward Zack Kekelik (Merrillville, Ind./Crown Point). Herrera got his second goal off a penalty kick in the 32nd minute, but not before junior midfielder Melchor Castro (Chicago, Ill./Saint Patrick) scored his team's second goal on a free kick from 25 yards deep. Leading 3-0 at the half, Culver scored both of his two goals in the game within the first eight minutes of the second half. Freshman defender Daniel Cross (Gravesend, England/Axton Chase) and Castro were each credited with an assist on the pair of goals by Culver. Kekelik posted SXU's final goal of the night in the 61st minute off another penalty kick.

Saint Xavier (4-5 overall/2-0 CCAC) heads to Joliet, Ill., on Wednesday, October 1, to take on CCAC rival University of St. Francis (Ill.). The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
