Somers, Wis. - Despite a team-best seven kills by junior outside hitter Danielle Malloy (Tinley Park, Ill./Tinley Park), the Saint Xavier University volleyball team had difficulty keeping pace with NCAA Division II foe University of Wisconsin-Parkside falling in three straight sets 20-25, 10-25, 19-25 Tuesday night in Somers, Wis. In addition, sophomore middle blocker Kim Scudder (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) also played well for the Cougars finishing the match with six kills, two block assists and three service aces. The Rangers improve to 12-2 overall with the victory, while SXU falls to 9-6 on the season.

Other top contributors for Saint Xavier in Tuesday's match included freshman libero Christine Bowe (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) with a team-best 11 digs and sophomore setter Ashley August (LaGrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township) with 20 assists. Junior middle hitter Tami Gleason and sophomore right side Addie Kramer each finished with seven kills to lead the offensive attack for UW-Parkside.

Saint Xavier (9-6 overall/1-0 CCAC) heads to Canton, Ohio, this weekend to take part in the Canton Comfort Inn Volleyball Invitational hosted by both Malone University (Ohio) and Walsh University (Ohio). The Cougars play two matches Friday evening at Walsh University and then play their final two matches Saturday morning at Malone University.
