Johnson City, Tenn. - Freshman Lauren Dentzman (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) finished No. 18 overall in the preliminaries of the 3,000-meter run at the 2007 NAIA Women's Track and Field National Championships on March 9 in Johnson City, Tenn. Dentzman posted an impressive time of 10:42.11 in the event and was the first female student-athlete from SXU to qualify for the national track and field meet.
"I am thrilled with Lauren's performance at the NAIA meet," said Saint Xavier first-year women's track coach Lisa Ebel. "To earn a qualifying time for the national meet as a freshman is truly an impressive accomplishment. I believe that she will only get faster as her collegiate career develops."
