CHICAGO - Lauren Ciszewski, a redshirt freshman defender from Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, has signed a letter of intent to transfer and continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. Ciszewski played prep soccer at Marist High School in Chicago under Sean Maxwell. The Alsip native will likely play in the center of the defense when she joins the SXU roster as a freshman this fall.
Ciszewski is the daughter of Mark and Elizabeth Ciszewski of Alsip. She is planning to pursue a degree in counseling (education) at Saint Xavier University. SXU women's soccer coach Jeremy Ekeler feels that Ciszewski has the drive and motivation to contribute heavily to the program.
"After an injury-plagued year at Saint Ambrose, Lauren's renewed motivation and physical play means that the ceiling is high for her,'" said Ekeler. "More importantly, the fact that she has spent her summer mornings at SXU lifting and running means she has the work ethic required to be a member of this program. A physical force on the Marist High School defense for four years, we are excited to see what Lauren brings to this team and the impact she will have in our conference."
