Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University freshman goalkeeper Danielle Wagner (Worth, Ill./Stagg) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week when the league office in Joliet, Ill released the honor Wednesday. Wagner helped lead the No. 19 ranked Cougars to three big wins over No. 18 Spring Arbor University (Mich.), Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.), and No. 20 Trinity Christian College (Ill.), respectively last week.
Over the three-game stretch, Wagner posted 14 total saves and two shutouts as the Cougars blanked Cardinal Stritch (9-0) and Trinity Christian (1-0). Against No. 18 Spring Arbor, she finished with eight saves. In Wagner's 11 starts this season, she has recorded four shutouts. Saint Xavier (11-3 overall/4-2 CCAC) returns home to face CCAC foe Judson College (Ill.) on Saturday, October 7. Game time is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago.
