CHICAGO - Despite a team-best eight kills by senior outside hitter Laura Gullickson (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bishop McNamara), the Saint Xavier University volleyball team dropped its match with NCAA Division II Lewis University (Ill.) in three straight games (21-25, 15-25, 22-25) Wednesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars fall to 5-13 overall with the loss, while the Flyers improve to 9-3 on the season with the victory.

Senior libero Jenna Guide (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) finished with 10 digs for SXU, while freshman setter Ashley August (LaGrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township) had 11 set assists. Gullickson also finished Wednesday's match with two service aces and two solo blocks. Junior outside hitter Stephanie Sagat, who finished with a match-best 10 kills, led the Lewis offensive attack.

Saint Xavier (5-13 overall/4-0 CCAC) gets back to its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) slate on Tuesday, September 23, with a home match against Judson University (Ill.). The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at the Shannon Center.
