CHICAGO - Paced by eight kills apiece by senior outside hitters Laura Gullickson (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bishop McNamara) and Mallory Winkler (Chicago, Ill./Queen of Peace), Saint Xavier University needed just three games (25-20, 25-18, 25-20) to pick up a match win over Trinity International University (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) volleyball action Tuesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars (5-12 overall) improved their conference record to a perfect 4-0 this season with Tuesday's victory.

Freshman middle blocker Kim Scudder (Elmhurst, Ill./York) played well defensively racking up six total blocks (two solos, four assisted), while Gullickson led SXU with eight digs. Freshman setter Jaclyn Major (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) finished the match with 26 set assists for the Cougars, while senior libero Jenna Guide (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) and junior outside hitter Stephanie Galas (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) each posted two service aces toward the winning effort.

Saint Xavier (5-12 overall/4-0 CCAC) takes a short break from its conference slate to host NCAA Division II Lewis University (Ill.) on Wednesday, September 17. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at the Shannon Center in Chicago.
