Men's Cross Country - Wed, Sep. 3, 2008
CHICAGO - David Hasty, a freshman distance runner from Oak Lawn, Ill., recently signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's cross country and track programs. Hasty attended Brother Rice High School in Chicago where he ran both cross country and track for the Crusaders.

Hasty was both an outstanding runner and wrestler at Brother Rice High School. He qualified for the state championships in both sports during his prep career. He plans to pursue a degree in business at Saint Xavier University starting this fall.

"Dan has found success in everything that he has ever attempted," said Saint Xavier University men's cross country/track coach Ed McAllister. "He had a bit of an injury problem during his senior season at Brother Rice, but concentrating completely on his track and cross country career will allow him to truly reach his full potential. I believe Dan is a better track athlete, but he has solid potential in both cross country and track."
