Men's Cross Country - Mon, Aug. 11, 2008
CHICAGO - Andy Peters, a incoming freshman distance runner from Yellow Springs, Ohio, recently signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's cross country and track programs. Peters attended Yellow Springs High School in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where he ran both cross country and track for the Bulldogs.
Peters was a three-time all-state selection in track and a member of the 3200 meter relay team that set a state record in Ohio during the 2007 season. He was also a two-time state finalist in cross country during his prep career. Peters plans to pursue a major in international business this fall at Saint Xavier University.
"Andy is a rare find," said Saint Xavier University men's cross country/track coach Ed McAllister. "His talents are easily adaptable to both cross country and track. I believe he has the ability to make an immediate impact on this team and will be a very interesting individual to coach."
