Men's Soccer - Fri, Aug. 1, 2008
CHICAGO - Daniel Peter Cross, a freshman midfielder from Gravesend, England, has recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. Cross, who played prep soccer at Axton Chase High School in England, will likely play at the left back position this fall at SXU.

Cross was coached by Dave Trounce at Axton Chase High School. He is the son of Derick and Susan Collins and Gary and Sue Cross. Cross plans to pursue a major in either education or communications this fall at Saint Xavier University. SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic feels that Cross will provide a huge lift to an already talented recruiting class.

"I believe that Dan's signing may be the one that turns out to be the difference maker of a very strong recruiting class," said Vucinic. "There is no question he has the physical and technical ability to raise our level of play, but I think his grit and will to win will turn out to be an infectious intangible."
