CHICAGO - Jacina Sims and Ijeoma Ibe, a pair of incoming freshmen sprinters from Rich East High School in Park Forest, Ill., have both recently signed letters of intent to continue both their athletic and academic careers at Saint Xavier University as members of the Cougar women's track program. Both sprinters hail from Park Forest and were coached by David Stefanski for the Rockets of Rich East High School.

Sims is the daughter of James Sims and Linda Walker, while Ibe is the daughter of Dr. Richard and Tina Ibe. Sims and Ibe were both members of Rich East's 4x200 meter relay team that qualified for state in 2007 and 2008. Sims also qualified for the state meet in the 200 meter dash during her junior season. Sims is undecided on what major to pursue next year at Saint Xavier University, while Ibe plans to study nursing starting next fall.

"I am thrilled to have Jacina and Ijeoma join our program, because they are both solid runners and students," said Saint Xavier University women's track coach Lisa Ebel. "I believe they will have bright futures at Saint Xavier and help us achieve our goals as a team."
