CHICAGO - Kristyn Daly, a junior transfer from Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Ill., has recently signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. Daly, a native of Crestwood, Ill., was coached by Jim Knawa with the Cyclones of Moraine Valley. As a defender, she played prep soccer at Shepard High School in Palos Heights, Ill., under coach Dustin Defrates.

Daly is the daughter of Tim and Laura Daly of Crestwood and plans to study elementary education next year at SXU. She will continue to play at the defender position next fall for the Cougars and may see playing time at defensive midfield as well.

"Kristyn helps give us depth at all our defensive positions, including mid," said SXU head women's soccer coach Jeremy Ekeler. "She is an experienced soccer player, who like many of our recruits, has family ties to Saint Xavier (her mother is a SXU alum). What the staff is most excited about with Daly is her work ethic and the maturity and composure she shows both on and off the field."
