CHICAGO - The Saint Xavier University softball team will take the No. 3 seed into the 2008 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Softball Tournament, which begins on Wednesday, April 30, at 9 a.m. in Bourbonnais, Ill. The Cougars (23-17 overall/12-6 CCAC) will face No. 6 seed Judson University (Ill.) at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the second of the two first-round games. The top two seeds in the tournament, No. 1 seed and host Olivet Nazarene University as well as No. 2 seed University of St. Francis (Ill.), received first-round byes and will not play until Wednesday afternoon.
The six-team, double-elimination tournament will last until Friday, May 2, with the championship game scheduled for 2 p.m. (a 4 p.m. game will also be available to play, if necessary). A first-round victory for SXU will pit them against No. 2 seed St. Francis (Ill.) at 3 p.m. Wednesday, while a loss to Judson will put the team in the event's first elimination game scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.Click here for a printable bracket of the 2008 CCAC Tournament
