CHICAGO - Adrian Guzman, a senior midfielder at De La Salle High School in Chicago, has recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. Guzman, a Chicago native, will likely make an immediate impact at the midfield position next fall for SXU.
Guzman is coached by Thomas Dufficy for the Meteors at De La Salle High School. He is the son of Nicolas and Angelica Guzman of Chicago and plans to study business next fall at Saint Xavier University.
"Adrian was among the top players we targeted for this recruiting class so needless to say I'm thrilled about his decision," said SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic. "He is an extremely creative player with superb touch, vision, and decision-making ability. Our midfield has just become better and more dangerous."
