CHICAGO - Lauren LaRoy, a senior forward at Marist High School in Chicago, Ill., has recently signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. LaRoy, a native of Orland Park, Ill., is currently coached by Sean Maxwell with the RedHawks of Marist High School.
LaRoy is the daughter of Mark and Cynthia LaRoy of Orland Park and plans to study business next year at SXU. Both her parents were students at Saint Xavier University with her father, a former SXU baseball player, and her mother, a graduate of the school's nursing program.
"Lauren is a relentless offensive threat who comes from a strong Marist soccer program," said SXU assistant women's soccer coach Jeremy Ekeler. "Her ability to get forward is impressive and is matched by her tireless pressure and ability to battle in traffic. Lauren is a second-generation Cougar and will be an exciting player for fans to watch."
