CHICAGO - Jaclyn Major, a senior setter, and Jenna Wartenberg, a senior outside hitter, both from Lockport Township High School in Lockport, Ill., have signed letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at Saint Xavier University as members of the Cougar volleyball program. Major and Wartenberg were coached by Julia Hudson during their prep careers with the Porters of Lockport Township.
Major is the daughter of Sue Warsaw of Lockport and she plans to pursue a degree in elementary education next year at Saint Xavier University. Wartenberg is the daughter of Jim and Michelle Wartenberg, also of Lockport. She plans to study nursing as a freshman next fall at SXU.
"Jaclyn will add another level of experience and competition to the setting position for us," said Saint Xavier University head volleyball coach Bob Heersema. "She has a lot of experience at the position and will make our team deeper this fall.
"Jenna is a very versatile player with a ton of experience," continued Heersema. "She will be called upon at the middle blocker and outside hitter positions in the fall."
