Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University senior forward Jackie Heine (Hampshire, Ill./Hannibal-LaGrange) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Division I Player of the Week for the week ending January 6 when the conference office released the honor Wednesday morning. Heine helped lead the No. 8 ranked Cougars to two non-conference victories on the week, an 87-55 road win over Purdue University-Calumet (Ind.) and an 80-64 decision over visiting Harris-Stowe State University (Mo.).
The senior forward averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the week and shot an impressive 65 percent (13-for-20) from the field over the two-game stretch. Against PUC, she finished with 15 points, five rebounds, and two blocks. Heine then followed that performance with a huge game against Harris-Stowe State recording 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Saint Xavier (12-3 overall) returns to action on Saturday, January 12, with a non-conference home game against Trinity International University (Ill.). The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at the Shannon Center in Chicago.Click here to go to the CCAC Players of the Week page
