Lake Wales, Fla. - Despite the recent cold moving through Florida over the last couple of days, the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team stayed plenty warm defeating Warner Southern College (Fla.), 80-71, Thursday night at the Turner Athletic Center in Lake Wales, Fla. The Cougars (13-4 overall) shot an impressive 60 percent (28-for-47) from the field in the game and were led by junior forward Adam Gregoriou (Burbank, Ill./Brother Rice), who finished with a game-high 20 points and six rebounds.

Senior guard Alok Aiyar (Hanover Park, Ill./UIC/Bartlett) also had a big game for SXU posting 19 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore guard Julian Scott (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest) scored in double figures as well in Thursday's road win with 15 points. The Cougars needed the hot shooting to help compensate for 20 turnovers and trailing in the battle of the boards, 27-21. SXU led nearly the entire game with Warner Southern holding just one lead in the ballgame.

Saint Xavier (13-4 overall) wraps up its Florida trip Friday with a game against Webber International University (Fla.). The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. CST start.
