Des Moines, Iowa - Senior middle blocker Tara Breshock (Lansing, Ill./TF-South) and senior setter Traci Looby (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) were both named First Team members of the 2007 NAIA Region VII Volleyball Team when the honors were released by the region office Tuesday. In addition, both Breshock and Looby earned First Team recognition on the 2007 All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Volleyball Team, while junior right side/outside hitter Laura Gullickson (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bishop McNamara) was named to the All-CCAC Honorable Mention Team. Looby also received the 2007 CCAC Setter of the Year award put out annually by the conference.

Breshock led the offensive attack for the Cougars this season finishing with team-bests of 503 kills and an attack percentage of .343. She also finished second on the squad in total blocks with 102, including 54 solos. Looby wrapped up a stellar collegiate career and finished as Saint Xavier's all-time leader in career assists with 5,057. She led SXU with 1809 assists in 2007 and also had 488 digs, 140 kills, and a team-high 95 service aces. Gullickson did a little bit of everything this fall posting 286 kills, 325 digs, and 48 service aces.

Saint Xavier had its most successful campaign (31-14 overall) since the 2000 season when the team finished 36-14 overall and earned a berth to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship. The Cougars also qualified for the NAIA Region VII championship match for the first time since 2000.
