Men's Basketball - Fri, Feb. 16, 2007
CHICAGO - Led by freshman guard Julian Scott (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest), the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team is looking forward to its opportunity to host No. 1 ranked Robert Morris College (Ill.) for a big Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) match-up at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shannon Center in Chicago. Scott currently leads the team in scoring (12.4 points per game), assists (3.9 apg), and steals (1.6 spg). Robert Morris comes into the Shannon Center Saturday with a perfect 24-0 record and sits atop the conference standings at 7-0, while SXU is currently 17-8 overall and in third place in the CCAC with a 4-3 mark.

"We know what we have to do and that is slow them down so that they can't get easy baskets off of turnovers and fast breaks," said Saint Xavier University men's basketball coach Tom O'Malley. "The key is executing on offense and control the ball as much as possible to limit their opportunity to score a lot of points. If our team can control the tempo of the game, we should put ourselves in good position to win the game."

Robert Morris has been ranked No. 1 in all 10 of the previous NAIA top 25 polls, including the preseason poll on November 1, 2006. Saint Xavier has received votes in all 10 polls, but has yet to crack the top 25 this season. The Eagles won the previous meeting between the two teams, 100-77, back on January 24, at the Gentile Center in Chicago. Senior guard Ken McCormick (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) led the Cougars in scoring with 16 points.
