CHICAGO - Behind a game-high 16 points by senior guard Angie Brown (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore), the No. 3 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team rolled to an 80-40 win over Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Saturday at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars (16-2 overall/1-1 CCAC) jumped out to big lead early in the first half and never looked back taking a 43-20 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Junior center Jennifer Stinich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) had one of her best games of the season Saturday posting a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds off the bench. Senior guard Candis Jackson (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) had a solid all-around outing for SXU with 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, while freshman forward Erin Hannemann (Homer Glen, Ill./Providence Catholic) also scored in double figures for the Cougars with 10 points in addition to her seven rebounds. SXU controlled every aspect of the game and recorded 21 steals en route to 32 IIT turnovers in the game.

Saint Xavier (16-2 overall/1-1 CCAC) returns to action on Tuesday, January 16, facing conference foe Purdue University-Calumet (Ind.) in Whiting, Ind. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. central time.
