Women's Basketball - Sun, Nov. 26, 2006
Parkside, Wis. - Despite a season-high 24 points by senior guard Candis Jackson (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young), the No. 17 Saint Xavier University women's basketball team had trouble keeping pace offensively with NCAA Division II foe University of Wisconsin-Parkside falling, 92-71, Saturday night at DeSimone Gymnasium in Parkside, Wis. It marks the first loss of the season for the Cougars, who drop to 4-1 overall. UW-Parkside improves to 4-1 with the home victory.

SXU had trouble rebounding the ball Saturday with the Rangers finishing the game with a 47-27 advantage on the boards. Also scoring in double figures for the Cougars were senior guard Dani Engleman (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) with 13 points and senior guard Angie Brown (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) with 12 points. Saint Xavier, a team that usually relies on tough defense to force turnovers, was limited to just five steals in the ballgame. UW-Parkside was led by junior guard Kayla Ming, who hit five three-pointers en route to an 18-point performance.

SXU (4-1 overall) continues its non-conference schedule with a road game against Judson College (Ill.) on Tuesday, November 28. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Elgin, Ill.
