Olathe, Kan. - When the No. 10 seeded Saint Xavier University women's soccer team gets its first taste of action at the NAIA National Tournament Friday at 2:30 p.m. (central) in Olathe, Kan., it will be against No. 7 seed Point Loma Nazarene University (Calif.) in second round action of the national event. The Cougars (19-3 overall) are making their first-ever trip to the national tournament after earning an automatic bid by winning the 2006 NAIA Region VII Tournament on Saturday, November 4.
Point Loma Nazarene brings a 13-5 overall record into the national tournament and earned an at-large bid based on its top 10 national ranking (No. 7 overall). This also marks the first-ever trip to the NAIA National Tournament for the Sea Lions. Twenty teams from around the nation qualify for the annual event.
