Deerfield, Ill. - Led by a 19-point performance by junior guard Sarah Wilson (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South), the No. 17 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team cruised to an 80-62 win over non-conference foe Trinity International University (Ill.) Tuesday in Deerfield, Ill. The Cougars (2-0 overall) jumped out to an early 10-2 lead and never looked back building a 44-25 advantage at the halftime break.

SXU had five players score in double figures in Tuesday's victory with senior guard Candis Jackson (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) and junior forward Jackie Heine (Hampshire, Ill./Hannibal-LaGrange) each posting 11 points. The Cougars also got 10 points apiece from senior guard Angie Brown (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) and freshman guard Angie Bush (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township). The Saint Xavier defense was tough as always helping to force 33 TIU turnovers in the game. SXU finished with just 10 miscues in the winning effort.

Saint Xavier (2-0 overall) returns home to face No. 30 ranked McKendree College (Ill.) on Saturday, November 18. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Shannon Center in Chicago.
