CHICAGO - The Saint Xavier University men's cross country team competed in the Sean Earl Invitational Saturday sponsored by Loyola University. Steven Bugarin was the top Cougar runner, finishing in 81st place with a time of 27:34. Next was Carlos Jaramillo, in 268th place with a time of 32:30. He was followed by Chris Farley in 273rd with 32:45 and finally Jorge Ortega with 32:52 for 277th place.
"I was not overly satisfied with our performances," commented head coach Ed McAllister. "We are having trouble putting good races together back-to-back. I guess next week is our week to have a good performance. We are getting too close to regionals and need more consistent racing." The Cougars move on to the Benedictine Invitational next Friday, at 4:30 in Lisle.
