Findlay, Ohio - Saint Xavier University sophomore quarterback Billy Yeo (Matteson, Ill./Western Michigan) and junior kicker Shane Longest (Wilmington, Ill./Wilmington) were named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, when the honors were released by the conference office Tuesday. Both players played instrumental roles in the No. 11 ranked Cougars' 31-19 homecoming win over University of St. Francis (Ill.) last Saturday in Chicago.

In his first game back from a rib injury, which sidelined him in week three, Yeo completed 27 of his 42 pass attempts for 289 yards and two touchdowns. He also finished with six rushes for one yard and a score. After throwing a touchdown pass in the first half, Yeo broke up a 10-10 tie with a six-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter to put the Cougars ahead for good.

Longest had another perfect afternoon kicking for SXU making all four of his extra-point attempts and tacking on a 36-yard field goal at the beginning of the third quarter to give SXU a 10-3 advantage. His best work of the afternoon may have been on kickoffs, however, booting three of his seven kicks out of the back of the endzone for touchbacks.

Saint Xavier (3-1 overall, 2-0 MSFA) heads to Bourbonnais, Ill., on Saturday, September 30, to take on MSFA rival Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) at Ward Field. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
