Women's Cross Country - Sat, Aug. 30, 2003
In the running of the event, the Saint Xavier University women's cross country represented itself well, thanks to the efforts of juniors Susan Bansley (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) and Graciella Patino (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora).
Bansley ran a season-best on the 3,'200-meter course with a time of 13:09.57 to finish in 65th place out of 217 participants. Patino also ran well with a time of 13:20.20 to snag the 77th spot.
Another strong performers for the Cougars at the Early Bird Invitational include: junior Laura Dignan (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) with a time of 13:52.55 (No. 109), and seniors Jennifer Selvage (Midlothian, Ill./Oak Forest) and Amy Kauth (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) with times of 13:53.30 (No. 112) and 14:07.65 (No. 126) respectively.
As a team, the Cougars finished 13th out of the 19 schools competing. Their average time was 13:40.66. University of Chicago won the meet with an average time of 12:03.33.
