CHICAGO - A goal by Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) senior forward Victor Pano in the ninth minute of overtime handed the Saint Xavier University men's soccer team its second straight Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) loss, 1-0, Tuesday at SXU Stadium in Chicago. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the CCAC.
Pano scored the goal on a header after junior forward Benson Okeiyi sent the ball across the front of the net from the left side for the assist. Freshman goalkeeper James Kline (Canton, Ohio/Perry) finished with six saves for Saint Xavier. The Scarlet Hawks outshot SXU, 11-8, in the game and had seven corner kicks to the Cougars' six.
Saint Xavier (6-4 overall/2-2 CCAC) continues its CCAC schedule on Saturday, October 1, with a home match-up against Robert Morris College (Ill.) at SXU Stadium in Chicago. Game time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m
