Men's Soccer - Mon, Aug. 28, 2006
Columbia, Ky. - Despite four saves for sophomore goalkeeper James Kline (Canton, Ohio/Perry), the Saint Xavier University men's soccer team dropped its season-opening game to No. 1 ranked and 2005 national champion Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.), 2-0, Saturday in Columbia, Ky. The Blue Raiders scored both their goals in the second half and out-shot the Cougars, 12-3, in the game.

Following a scoreless first half, Lindsey Wilson junior Adam Howard played the ball from the left flank deep into the penalty area where junior midfielder Ryan Stewart found the back of the net on a header in the game's 62nd minute. The Blue Raiders struck again with just over two minutes to play in regulation when Stewart recorded his second goal of the game off an assist from freshman Carnell Learmond.

Saint Xavier returns to action on Friday, September 1, to take on Grand View College (Iowa) in Des Moines, Iowa. Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
