CHICAGO - Tim Kopec, a transfer from Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. The Orland Park native played midfield during his two-year stint at Moraine Valley under Chuck Bales and will play both midfield and defense this fall at SXU. Prior to Moraine Valley, Kopec enjoyed a successful prep career at Sandburg High School in Orland Park under coach Jack Ferraro.

Kopec is the son of Walter and Lottie Kopec, also of Orland Park. He plans to pursue a degree in business while attending Saint Xavier University. Kopec was a All-Region IV selection during his career at Moraine Valley and helped lead the Cyclones to a 19-12-2 record during his two-year stint with the team.

"Tim is another exciting addition to our 2006 roster," said Vucinic. "He has the versatility to help us out in a lot of areas and brings great intensity and competitiveness along with his skills. I love the way he approaches the game and there is no question that he will have a positive impact on our program."
