Olathe, Kan. - Saint Xavier University senior defender Chris Bartley (Park Forest, Ill./Moraine Valley CC) was named to the 2005 NAIA Men's Soccer All-American Team as an honorable mention selection when the national office released the honors Tuesday. Bartley was also named to the All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) First Team and to the 2005 NAIA All-Region VII Men's Soccer Team earlier this month.
Bartley finished second on the team in both goals scored (11) and total points (25) as a defender. He scored five of his 11 goals against CCAC opponents during the 2005 regular season. Following the 2002 and 2003 seasons at SXU, Bartley earned All-CCAC Second Team honors.
Saint Xavier finished the 2005 season with an overall record of 9-9-1 and a third-place finish in the CCAC with a 5-3 mark. The Cougars ended the year on November 8 with a 2-0 loss to St. Ambrose University (Iowa) in the quarterfinals of the 2005 NAIA Region VII Tournament in Davenport, Iowa.
