Men's Soccer - Fri, Oct. 13, 2006
Miami Gardens, Fla. - Despite a goal in the 73rd minute by junior defender Brett Falloon (Orland Park, Ill./Augustana College), the Saint Xavier University (Ill.) men's soccer team could not manage a win Thursday falling 3-1 to St. Thomas University (Fla.), in non-conference action on a rainy night in Miami Gardens, Fla. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 5-8 overall and have lost their last three games.

Sophomore James Kline (Canton, Ohio/Perry) started in goal for Saint Xavier and posted five saves. St. Thomas scored first in the fourth minute of play on a goal in the box by senior forward Thiago Oliveira off a cross from junior forward Alvin Murray. The Bobcats then took a 2-0 lead in the 61st minute on a free kick goal by Murray. Falloon was able to bring SXU to within a goal, 2-1, with his goal in the 73rd minute, but St. Thomas secured the victory with an unassisted goal by senior defender Michael Galas with just over five minutes to play in regulation. The Cougars were out-shot in the game, 16-10.

Saint Xavier (5-8 overall, 2-4 CCAC) wraps up its two-game Florida trip on Sunday, October 15, with a game against Flagler College (Fla.). Start time for Sunday's match-up is scheduled for 11 a.m. (eastern).
