CHICAGO -- Junior midfielder Paul Herbst (Cary, Ill./McHenry County CC) scored both goals for the Saint Xavier University men's soccer team in a 2-1 victory over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Trinity Christian College (Ill.) Wednesday at SXU stadium in Chicago. The Cougars have won nine of their last 10 games with the lone loss coming on the road against University of Chicago on September 19. SXU is currently 9-2-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in league play.

Trinity Christian struck first in the game with a goal in the seventh minute of regulation. Herbst scored his first goal of the day just six minutes into the second half off an assist from freshman Matt Prunckle (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice). Herbst scored the game-winning goal unassisted in the 75th minute. Senior goalkeeper Enrique Orejel (Chicago, Ill./Curie) finished the game with only one save, however, it was a key one coming with just under four minutes remaining in the game and securing the victory. Saint Xavier will face CCAC rival and No. 5 ranked Judson College (Ill.) at SXU stadium on Saturday, October 9, at 1 p.m. Judson has a perfect 14-0 overall record and sits atop the CCAC standings with a 6-0 mark.
