Bourbonnais, Ill. - Senior second baseman Colleen Kilduff (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) recorded career double No. 69, tying the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national mark, as the No. 16 ranked Saint Xavier University softball team advanced in the 2006 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament Wednesday with a five-inning, 11-3 win over University of St. Francis (Ill.) at host Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill. Kilduff finished the game 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, and three RBI. The Cougars (34-12 overall/16-2 CCAC) will continue tournament play on Thursday, May 4, with a 2 p.m. game against the winner of Wednesday's No. 2 seed Olivet Nazarene/No. 6 Robert Morris game.

Melissa Dowlen, who amassed 69 career doubles during her softball career (1993-95) at Athens State University (Ala), also holds the current national record. Junior right fielder Nicole Barker (Chicago Heights, Ill./Marian Catholic) set a new Saint Xavier University single-season record in Wednesday's victory by stealing her 27th base of the spring. Barker is a perfect 27-for-27 on stolen base attempts this season. She finished 1-for-3 at the plate Wednesday with two runs scored.

Junior centerfielder Marie Barker (Chicago Heights, Ill./Marian Catholic) also had a hot bat for the Cougars finishing 1-for-3 with a triple, a run scored, and three RBI, while junior first baseman Jory Bodi (Richmond, Ill./Richmond-Burton) also went 1-for-3 with a homer. Sophomore catcher Aly Kelley (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsee Valley) was tough as well for Saint Xavier going 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored, and a RBI. Saint Xavier led, 2-1, after two innings of play before exploding for six runs in the top of the third behind a three-RBI triple by Marie Barker. Senior righthander Jessica Wilson (Munster, Ind./Munster) got the start for SXU and threw well going all five innings and allowing eight hits, three runs, and two walks with nine strikeouts. Wilson improves to 17-6 overall this season with the win.

The Cougars (34-12 overall/16-2 CCAC) continue play in the 2006 CCAC Tournament at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., on Thursday, May 4, with a game against the winner of No. 2 seed Olivet Nazarene/No. 6 seed Robert Morris College. Game time for Thursday's game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
