CHICAGO - A two-run homer by senior second baseman Colleen Kilduff (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) in the third inning of game one helped lead No. 20 ranked Saint Xavier University to a doubleheader sweep of Purdue University-North Central (Ind.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) softball action Tuesday at SXU Softball Field in Chicago. The Cougars (13-7 overall/6-0 CCAC) picked up a 3-0 victory in the first game and then cruised to a 9-0 win in five innings in the nightcap.

Besides Kilduff's home run, SXU tacked on its third run of the first game in the bottom of the fourth when senior first baseman Megan Stluka (Beecher, Ill./Beecher) scored from third on a RBI single to left field by junior rightfielder Nicole Barker (Chicago Heights, Ill./Marian Catholic). Barker finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and a RBI, while Stluka went 2-for-2 with a run scored. Senior rightie Jessica Wilson (Munster, Ind./Munster) recorded the win for Saint Xavier pitching all seven innings and allowing four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.

SXU jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead in the first inning of the nightcap and was able to shorten the game to five innings with its 9-0 advantage. Nicole Barker, junior centerfielder Marie Barker (Chicago Heights, Ill./Marian Catholic), and junior first baseman Jory Bodi (Richmond, Ill./Richmond-Burton) all went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate in game two. Bodi also tallied three RBI, while Marie Barker posted two RBI to help lead Saint Xavier. Sophomore righthander Nicolle Bartels (Chicago, Ill./Marian Catholic) threw all five innings of the second game and allowed just six hits and no walks with two strikeouts to earn the win.
