CHICAGO - Rachel Krabbe, a senior shortstop/second baseman at Beecher High School in Beecher, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar softball program. She will be a freshman at SXU in the fall of 2007 and will compete for playing time in the middle infield during the 2008 season.

Krabbe is the daughter of Richard and Lori Krabbe, both of Beecher. She is currently coached by Kevin Hayhurst as a Bobcat at Beecher High School. Krabbe has not decided on which major she will pursue next year at Saint Xavier University.

"Rachel is a very versatile athlete and a smart, skilled middle infielder with outstanding speed," said Saint Xavier University head softball coach Myra Minuskin. "Her tough competitive nature, combined with the fact that she comes from an elite high school program at Beecher, will allow her to contribute immediately."
