Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University junior point guard Roosevelt Green (Markham, Ill./Tinley Park) and sophomore guard Brad Karp (Valparaiso, Ind./Valaparaiso) were the team's first-team representatives on the 2011-12 All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Division I Men's Basketball Team when the awards were announced late Saturday afternoon in conjunction with the 2012 CCAC Men's Basketball Tournament Championship.  In addition, senior guard Ed Gilgenbach (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac), junior point guard Anthony Grant (South Holland, Ill./Prairie State CC/Thornridge) and sophomore forward Mark Peters (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) all earned sports on this season's All-CCAC Second Team.

Karp led the way for the Cougars this year leading the conference in scoring (23.6 points per game) and field goal percentage (.596) and finishing second overall in rebounding (8.5 rebounds a game).  Green was ninth in the CCAC in scoring (12.7 points per game), first in steals (2.2 steals a game) and second in assists (6.2 assists per game).  Gilgenbach had averages of 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, while Grant was tough as well averaging 13.1 points, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals.  Peters posted averages of 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds this season.  Karp and Peters also represented Saint Xavier University on the 2011-12 CCAC All-Academic Team.  To qualify, a player must be at sophomore academic standing and have maintained at least a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average.

Saint Xavier (23-9 overall/7-3 CCAC) awaits next Wednesday's final NAIA national top 25 rankings to see if the team still has a chance to secure an at-large to the 2012 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championships.  National tournament play is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 14, in Kansas City, Mo.
